Everyone should...

Definitely go see the band The Academy Is... live at least once in your lifetime. They're the second best live band I've ever seen, and that's saying something because I've seen dozens of great acts. If you don't know who they are, I suggest downloading the following tracks as an introduction: "Slow Down", "Everything We Had", "Bulls In Brooklyn", and "Black Mamba". If you like what you here, go ahead and support them by buying the records! ^__^

Love that first blog smell...

Well, since this is my first ever blog in these here parts, I'd like to take this post to recommend some books to my fellow bloggers (mostly because in the age of reality tv and internet, not enough actual reading gets done).

Everyone should read (classics):
The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty
*girl gets possessed by a demon.
Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger
*Holden Caulfield explores New York and in the process discovers himself.
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
*"Can I still tend the rabbits, George?"
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
*Rich dude obsessed with old flame, murder and mayhem ensues.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
*BOO! Radley.

Fun contemporary books!:
Boys that Bite and it's sequel Stake That! by Mari Mancusi
*hot vampires. nuff said.
Harry Potter series by JK Rowling (like you don't read those anyway, pfft)
*the boy who lived.
Peeps by Scott Westerfeld
*a new take on the vampire tale... you'll never look at your cat the same way again.
Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot
*murder mystery from the perspective of a slightly overweight ex-pop star. fun stuff.
Rainbow Boys, Rainbow High, and Rainbow Road by Alex Sanchez
*a story about 3 gay teens trying to deal with life.

Hope any potential readers of this blog take my recommendations to heart. They're all good books for a rainy day :]
